In order to make sure you’re getting the most from your hosting, here are some tips to make sure you’re not paying for more than you need:
Remove old files from your website media library
If your website has been live for over 18 months and you consistently update it with new content, it’s possible that there are some old image or PDF files sitting in the Media Library that are no longer used. Deleting these old files will help to keep down the space your website uses.
Remember: Once you delete files from the Media Library there is no undo button, so be careful when deleting old files. You can find a step-by-step guide on how to delete files by clicking here.
Deleting old emails from your webmail
If you use our Webmail system for emails and have set your emails up on your computer or mobile using a POP setting, then you might need to delete some of your old emails from the Webmail system. You can login to your webmail by visiting www.webmail.yourdomain.co.nz (where yourdomain.co.nz would be replaced with your own domain name) and logging in with your email address and password that would have been supplied to you at the time of set up. Once logged in, you can go through and delete old emails that you don’t need anymore. Deleting these old emails will help to keep down the space your email uses. If you have not already done so, we strongly recommend the use of an IT company such as Need a Nerd or Code Blue to help you in the correct set up of your emails.
