Yes it’s true, Google announced that it plans to start decreasing the rank of non mobile friendly websites starting 21 April 2015.
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimised for their devices.”
This means that if your website is not mobile friendly, Google may penalise your website in search results compared to other websites that are mobile friendly.

Not sure if your site is mobile friendly?
If your website was built in the last two years it is highly likely that it is already mobile responsive, especially if we built it. But if you’re not sure the first step is to run it through the “Google mobile friendly” test here. Simply copy and paste your websites URL then wait for the result.
If it isn’t mobile friendly, now might be a good time to look at a re-fresh to make sure you comply with the latest Google algorithm changes. Please get in touch if you would like to look at the options.
